Make vs. Do

Who on earth thought it would be a good idea to have two verbs in English for something the rest of the world has only one? Is it because the English think they're better than everyone else, or do they just want to make it even more difficult to learn an already difficult language? Whatever the reason, the fact is that in English we have two very different verbs for the Italian word fare and the Spanish word hacer. There is a logical explanation for this difference, but unfortunately there are some strange exceptions to the rule, so when in doubt, check out this PDF with a complete list of uses for both of these lovely English verbs.
